Cyber security and home working

In the current climate of self-isolation and social distancing, many of us are working from home.

And remote working brings data protection and cyber security risks.

National Cyber Security Centre advice

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has published advice for UK companies to help address and reduce risks of cyber attacks on devices such as laptops, mobiles and tablets.  The advice also gives tips to help people recognise typical signs of phishing scams.

NCSC recommendations for organisations

The NCSC has also outlined recommended steps for organisations in:

  • Preparing for home working;
  • Setting up new accounts and accesses;
  • Controlling access to corporate systems;
  • Helping staff to look after devices;
  • Reducing the risk from removable media.

The guidance is available via the NCSC website.
