First Tier Tribunal: lodging applications and documents by email

On 26th March, a new Practice Direction was issued dealing with how documents should be lodged with the Tribunal during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.


New applications and appeals

Until further notice, new applications and appeals should be lodged with the tribunal by email.

This includes all ongoing correspondence and case management documentation in relation to those new applications.


Ongoing applications

The Practice Direction also sets that all correspondence and case management documentation for current applications should be lodged with the Tribunal by email.

No further consent from the Tribunal in accordance with rule 16(1)(c) is required.


Areas in the Property Chamber

The geographical rules relating to which Tribunal office an application should be submitted to have also been relaxed.  Accordingly, applications made to any office of the First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) (Residential Property)
