Tough (and a bit muddy)….

On 29 July 2017, I took part in what is described as ‘probably the toughest event on the planet’.

5 miles. 13 obstacles. One extraordinary experience.

The course is designed to test team work and toughness, and alongside 6 colleagues, we completed the course in roughly 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Although we knew we would face mud-drenched obstacles and adrenaline-pumping challenges, the most rewarding part of the experience was knowing it was all for a great cause.

We were raising money on behalf of our office charity, the MS Society. Multiple sclerosis is a neurological condition of the central nervous system. More than 100,000 people in the UK have MS and it affects almost three times as many women than men. Once diagnosed, MS stays with you for life, but treatments and specialists can help you to manage the condition and its symptoms.

Overall, Tough Mudder has helped to raise over £5million across hundreds of different charities.

We hope to have raised around £600.

Next year we are aiming to go bigger and better by taking on the 10mile course with 20 + obstacles!

If you are looking for a challenge for you and your friends, or you and your fellow colleagues, then sign up for Tough Mudder!
